Blood Pressure Products Needed To Check Your Blood Pressure
The following blood pressure products are needed if you have high blood pressure and your Doctor wants you to check it regularly. Please check it as directed and check it whenever you need it especially if you feel it’s elevated or low. These are the items you need: A stethoscope A blood pressure cuff (sphygmomanometer) A pressure gauge A bulb also known as a bladder A blood pressure log Or a digital blood pressure monitor.

Blood pressure cuff (sphygmomanometer) on the left with a bulb, blood pressure gauge, and stethoscope. Digital blood pressure monitor on the right. If you purchase a digital blood pressure monitor, that’s the only piece of equipment you need. If checking your blood pressure by yourself, make sure the blood pressure cuff fits just right because if it is too tight or too big your readings are going to be inaccurate. Also make sure you keep a blood pressure log and include the time and date when you checked your blood pressure. It is very important to keep track of your blood pressure results. Below is a simple example of keeping a blood pressure log
Date and Time Reading Comments 3/1/08 9:15 AM 110/68 Sitting outside 3/2/08 1:30 PM 126/70 after resting 2/2/08 5:30 PM 132/72 Tired 3/3/08 9:00 AM 110/66 feeling good Make sure you call your Doctor if your B/P is very high or very low especially if you are having symptoms. If your blood pressure is very low, call your Doctor before you take your blood pressure medications.
