Carbohydrate Counting
Carbohydrate counting is essential for people who have diabetes for better blood sugar control. Maintaining an ideal blood sugar level on a regular basis will help prevent long term complications. Carbohydrates are part of our daily intake even though we do not pay any attention to them. If you have diabetes you know that you have to pay attention to everything you eat because whether you like it or not, is something you have to do. If you are newly diagnosed with diabetes chances are that you too will be on a diabetic diet and you will need to spend some of your time doing some carb counting. A low carb diet is basically devising a diet where your sugar intake is low in order to keep your blood sugars under control. With diet and exercise you could control your diabetes and will avoid taking insulin and diabetic medications. Since diabetes is a disorder where glucose remains elevated if not treated, a low carb diet is of extreme importance. Learning what foods are high in carbs and reading labels will be difficult to integrate in your daily routine at first but with a little practice and patient, you will know your values by heart.
Heart Attacks are the number one killer in America. Make it your goal in life to prevent a heart attack in the future. Start paying attention to your daily habits such as diet, exercise, stress, smoking, alcohol, and drugs. Practicing good habits on an ongoing basis will help you lead a future healthy life.
