Carbon Dioxide
Carbon dioxide is the most abundant gas in the atmosphere; the molecular form is Co2. It plays an important part in vital plant and animal process, such as photosynthesis and respiration. When we exhale, we release Co2 and is used by plants. Plants release oxygen which is used by us. (1)
Co2 and and health C02 is essential for respiration in a human body. Internal respiration is a process, by which oxygen is transported to body tissues and Co2 is carried away from them. Co2 is a guardian of the blood’s PH level, which is essential for survival.(1) The normal human PH levels are between 7.35 to 7.45 - anything below or above those ranges, the person gets sick. The normal Co2 levels in the blood is between 20 and 29 mEq/L (values vary slightly from facility to facility). Generally when Co2 is used with other electrolytes, it is a good indicator of acidosis and alkalinity.(2) There is a lot more information about Co2 but for now that’s all we are going to mention.
