Exercise And Health
Exercise and health go hand in hand but the word exercise is dreaded by many. Why? Because it requires will, dedication, and self discipline. A lot of us do not always pay attention to our exercise activities and the next thing you know, six months have gone by since we did any kind of physical activity. This holds true, even more, during the winter months.
Some of us at least have the opportunity to receive a wake up call but for others, it is too late. This wake up call is when we start experiencing certain problems that can be improved not only with diet but with exercise also. A perfect example is obesity. A lot of people become obese because they consume an unhealthy diet and live a sedentary lifestyle. They may experience breathing problems but losing some weight and eating healthy may improve symptoms. It is too late for others because their conditions may not be improved by exercise alone and they cannot even tolerate it; smokers for example. People who have smoked a lot for years develop breathing problems like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). If the condition is advanced, it is difficult to tolerate moderate exercise because they become very short of breath easily. Quitting smoking and progressive exercises along with medications can help improve the condition but will not cure it. Exercise helps keep you healthy and makes you feel a great sense of well being. If you have a few extra pounds, it is important you start some exercise activities. You can start slow and then progress as you can tolerate. If you have any health problems and are over 50 years old, you need to consult your physician so he can help you develop a plan. There are a lot of different safe and cheap ways to exercise at home but you can also join a gym if you can afford it. This is not an option for some because their budget may be too tight. One of those exercises you can do at home is walking which has a lot of benefits or you can even do some dancing. As you know by now, there is a relationship between exercise and health, so grab your walking sneakers or crank up the volume on your stereo and start exercising for better health.
