Low cholesterol diet

A low cholesterol diet should include all those foods that are low in cholesterol such as vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cutting down and eating lean meats and increasing fish should also be part of your cholesterol lowering diet.

Food s such as avocados, garlic, orange juice, prunes, oatmeal, walnuts, oat brand, and foods fortified with plant sterols or stanols will help lower your cholesterol dramatically.

Avocados are high monounsaturated fat which is a good type of fat; not like the type of fat found in animals called saturated fats and are high in cholesterol. According to the Reader’s Digest, several studies find that eating one avocado a day can lower your LDL as much 17 percent while raising your HDL choleserol. Avocados can be used in many dishes such as salads sandwiches, tacos, and dip. Mash them and use a bit of lemon juice, onion, and chopped tomato as a topping for baked potatoes. Note - one avocado has about 340 calories so do not eat many of them. One a day will do.

Garlic prevents the blood from becoming sticky preventing dangerous
blood clot formation and it can lower your cholesterol. Garlic smell can last for a long time so being careful how to prepare foods with it will prevent the strong smell coming out of you. This will prevent chasing people away.

There are also garlic supplements available and studies have shown that that 7 of 14 garlic supplements tested contained less of the active ingredient (allicin). Researchers say allicilin is necessary for a therapeutic effect. According to Garlic Central, Allicin is the most powerful medicinal compound derived from garlic and provides the greatest reputed health benefits.

It is believed that orange juice can lower your cholesterol. Making orange juice part of your low cholesterol diet may be helpful.
